Position Yourself in the Path of Opportunity

Jul 08, 2020

Ed Eason is a musician and speaker.

As a guitarist, he has played with artists who have sold over 25,000,000 albums!  From Dick Clark's Rockin Eve at Times Square to The Grammys, if there is an Award Show or TV Show to play, Ed has most likely played it.

When not on stage playing guitar, Ed is often on other stages speaking and connecting.  It's in these settings where he shares the 3 life lessons he's learned through the ups, downs and heartaches of carving out a successful music career.

Here's a sneak peek inside this episode:

  • [11:05] When you're successful, it's important to build real friendship and not only to reach out to people when you need something. Friends are there to help you achieve your goals.
  • [18:32] Younger Ed knew that he needs to position himself in a place where things are happening in order to have a real opportunity or career.
  • [36:40] People's mindset in overcoming the internal dialogue differentiates who make it and who don't.
  • [38:07] You have to be brave in overcoming your insecurities and continue to put yourself out there in reaching out to people. Show them what you've got and never give in. Do not let those insecurities stop you from moving forward.
  • [39:02] When people turn you down, don't look at it as negative. It's just means that probably you're not the right fit for what they specifically  need.
